WebMar 23, 2024 · I'm starting to see more and more machines on our network display "Access is Denied" when trying to install either a network printer or a local printer. The users have local admin privileges on their machine, but are unable to install. I've logged on as domain admin, and am unable to install (both network and local). WebOnly, you have to restart both computer. Add Printer ---> Local Port ---> Create New Port ---> Local Port ---> Enter Port Name (Here, type name of PC running Windows 10 and printer shared name in the format mentioned above) ---> Add drivers from the Printer Driver CD. Remember to restart BOTH PCs.

Can create TCP/IP ports OK. Can create Local Ports on the local machine OK - just not on remote machines. Can install printer if an existing local port is used, so drivers install OK. Both laptops are running Windows 10 21H1 19043.1288. The desktop has a Brother MFC-J6910D printer connected to it via a usb cable. Up until a couple of months ago (more or less, can't be sure) both laptops could access the printer without difficulty. gxo remote work
