This match race was set up at the last minute. Both cars had problems. The Pinto sounded terminal.The Vega didn't sound too bad and jumped out to a good lead but shut off at about 500ft.

The drilled throttle plates will help with the idle richness but the holes at the bottom of the venturi taper are above the throttle plates and will be active when the throttle is open. In theory they should lean the transition and the main circuit.
