WebAug 10, 2024 · Coolant always flows through the heater core so it does not matter if the heat is on or not, and recirc just moves an air flap so you can leave that off too, but I like to take the overflow cap off, start the car, wait for the tstat to open and then start squeezing all coolant hoses numerous times until I think all air is out.
