WebInline Checkshot Tool (QSST*) Description The Schlumberger QSST was a single-axis seismic checkshot tool that ran in-line with the triple combo tool string. The QSST consisted of a single hydrophone and did not utilize a clamping arm like the WST to force it into contact with the borehole wall. WebSeismic checkshot times are used as a reference to calibrate the sonic log through a process called drift curve correction. The drift curve is a log of the difference between integrated sonic log time and check shot seismic time. When integrated sonic log times are higher than seismic times (the usual case), drift is negative.
